Hello, with a question [15 Jun 2007|08:38am] e_i_k_i_c_h_i Hello, Just recently joined the community. A little about me, I've been playing bass for almost 3 months and love it. I have/had an Ibanez GSR200-FM with a Drop-D tuner. The "had" part leads me to my question, which I hope someone out there can help me with. I posted this on the Ibanez forums on their main site, but have yet to get a response. So here goes: I bought my bass off of e-bay about 3 months ago, and now it doesn't seem to work anymore. It worked perfectly up until a month ago. I started hearing a buzzing/humming sound coming from the amp. I figured that I would need a new amp because I had bought an $80 Peavey amp. I figured, you get what you pay for. Well, about two weeks ago no sound came through my amp at all. I tried switching out cables, from the DiMarzio to the one that the seller had shipped with the bass. Still nothing. But, the thing is. When I was plugging in the cable into the output jack on my bass, I got some sort of feedback coming from the amp. Another test I tried was seeing if my tuner would actually work, still nothing. I guess my question is, am I S.O.L.? Or can I repair it myself, or get it repaired at a shop, for a reasonable price? Thanks in advance, and nice to meet everyone! =) -Glenn 2 slaps| pluck a string

looking for tap bass arrangements [29 Dec 2006|12:44am] t3dy hey folks, first time poster here. i've been getting back into playing bass after years of neglect, have a 4- and 5- string fretted handy right now, thinking about buying a 6 string (the musicians friend rogue for $250) I want to learn how to play tap style, which I've messed around with over the years (12-background in Rush, Tool, The Jesus Lizard, nintendo music, and Primus) but never with much system or success. I'd like to get advice from anybody who specializes in this style, especially if you know a good place to find readable and user-friendly arrangements of songs or classical music (especially bach) in tab format or other instructional sources. links, books, videos, tell me what helps, what you trained on or wish you had when you were beginner, that kinda thing. p.s. to be blacked out search "mario 11 string" on youtube p.p.s. i'm also interested in corresponding/jamming with folks who are into playing + theorizing video game music pluck a string
